Catherine Williams

View Full Profile

Born and raised in Newcastle, Catherine moved to Mudgee with her family in 2012. Whilst in Newcastle she spent the first 12 years as a Solicitor working for a number of leading Family Law firms where she was trained and mentored by Senior Family Law practitioners. After moving to Mudgee Catherine continued her work as a Solicitor in the Family Law field, initially with a small local firm before beginning work with Richard Wise Solicitor.

Catherine works extremely hard to assist her clients to finalise the care arrangements for their children and the division of their assets after the breakdown of their marriage or de facto relationship in a timely and costs effective manner. She encourages mediation and negotiation where appropriate and does her utmost to reduce the hostility and angst that often arises when a relationship breaks down. Where mediation and negotiation fail to resolve a Family Law dispute for any reason she is not afraid to fight hard in Court on her client’s behalf.

Her aim at all times is to provide her clients with the finality, peace of mind and closure that a settlement or Court outcome provides and works equally hard for all of her clients, regardless of whether they have a dispute about children, a small amount of assets or multi-million dollar properties.

Catherine regularly appears in the Family Courts in Dubbo, Parramatta, Sydney as well as Newcastle, in matters ranging from complex children’s cases involving allegations of family violence and abuse, cases involving the use of expert witnesses such as Psychiatrists, to disputes over valuable farming property including defending competing claims by other relatives over that land.

Paula Sutherland

Paula has worked at Richard Wise Solicitor since 2013, having commenced as a Legal Secretary in Mudgee in about 1995.

View Full Profile

Since 1995 she has assisted in various areas of law, however, the area she most enjoys working in and the area in which she is focussed at Richard Wise Solicitor is Conveyancing and Property Law. Having worked for approximately 5 years in the role of Sales Administration in a local Real Estate Agent Paula has a firsthand understanding of the role of both parties in a property transaction.

Her attention to detail and high level of communication ensure a smooth Conveyancing process and believes this is assisted by having a good relationship with the listing and selling Agent in pursuit of the same goal.

What Paula enjoys most about Conveyancing is being able to make that telephone call to our client once a matter has settled to give them the good news that they have bought or sold their property.

Away from work Paula enjoys working out at the gym, reading and going to the beach. She helps in the community by being on the Committee for Mudgee PCYC and regularly volunteers at the Bunnings BBQ. She also assists in the canteen for the Mudgee Touch Football Association and Mudgee Junior Rugby League.
